Academy
The World Photographic Academy comprises international industry experts. Some of the world’s leading photographers, gallery owners, picture editors, photographic foundations, agents, managers, publishers and other respected industry members make up this unique network.
This governing body of established industry experts share the vision of advancing the practice of photography, expanding access to a wider international audience and discovering and supporting young talent.
The primary roles of the World Photographic Academy's are to judge yearly entries into the awards competition and to act as a "checks and balances" committee for the World Photography Awards organisation.
As a judging committee, the Academy demands the highest respect from the contemporary art industry, as they critically review each submitted work and select work that is original and innovative.
As an advisory committee, the Academy is able to guide and help develop the future of the organisation, its initiatives and the future of photography. Through the World Photography Awards organisation, The Academy is recognised as the most renowned and respected body of its kind and supported through all means possible.
Each year, selected members from the WPA will be invited to sit on the Honorary Judging Committee and judge the entered works from both professional and amateur photographers.
